Sandvik has added another low-profile Toro model to its lineup – this time primarily for the southern Africa market – with the 1.6-metre-high Toro LH208L.
Featuring a payload of 7.7 tonnes, the loader has been tailor-made for extremely limited working heights. The frame has been reinforced to resist impacts from the ground and roof, and a welded steel box structures used in the frame and boom offer customers resistance to shock loads.
The Toro LH208L loader is fitted with a ROPS and FOPS certified canopy to protect the operator from rollovers or falling objects; the canopy also has a door lock and latch mechanism with an interlock switch that can automatically apply the brakes and inactivate the boom, bucket and steering when it is opened.
It has been fitted as well as a monitoring camera system with front and rear cameras, adjustable high-power LED lights and an optional proximity detection system (PDS) interface.
The new release has been designed for boosted productivity and has an integrated weighing system IWS and traction control on board.
“The integrated weighing system measures the payload when lifting the boom, as well as the number of buckets filled during a shift, and records the results to My Sandvik Digital Services Knowledge Box,” the OEM explained.
“Payload monitoring assists in maximizing productivity by optimizing loads, reducing overloading and helping to identify training needs. The traction control system reduces wheel slippage when penetrating to the muck pile and filling the bucket, extending tire lifetime and decreasing rubber waste.”
The Toro LH208L is powered by a Deutz 140 kW Stage II engine, with catalytic purifier and muffler. An optional diesel particulate filter (DPF) is available; it is made of sintered metal and is field serviceable, cleaned using a high-pressure washer or steam cleaner.
To reduce emissions and fossil fuel consumption, the engine can also use paraffinic fuel, thereby meeting BS EN 15940 requirements.
